Why Quality Control Matters in Precision CNC Machining

In precision CNC machining, even the smallest deviation can affect part assembly, performance, and long-term reliability.

At YUANYI, quality control is not a final step—it is integrated throughout the entire manufacturing process to reduce risks before parts are shipped.

This ensures every component meets drawing requirements and performs consistently in real applications.

Avoid Costly Assembly Issues

Small dimensional errors can lead to part misalignment or assembly failure.

Ensure Consistent Production Quality

In-process inspection helps maintain stable quality across all batches.

Reduce Engineering Risks Early

Early detection of machining issues prevents rework and delays.

Quality Assurance Process

Every CNC part follows a documented quality assurance process, from material verification and in-process inspection to final verification and shipment, ensuring consistent quality and full traceability.

1. Production Review

Engineering, purchasing, and production teams review machining methods and material requirements before production begins.

2. Material Verification

Material certificates are reviewed and verified to ensure compliance with customer specifications.

Spectrometer

3. Material Testing

Incoming materials are checked using a spectrometer to verify material composition and grade.

Online random inspection

4. In-Process Inspection

Critical dimensions and machining quality are monitored throughout production to identify issues early.

Finished Product Inspection

5. Final Inspection

Finished parts undergo comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections before shipment.

Pack and ship

6. Inspection Report & Shipment

Inspection reports and supporting documentation are prepared before packaging and delivery.

How YuanYi Performs Final Inspection

Before shipment, finished CNC parts are checked through a comprehensive final inspection process covering dimensional accuracy, appearance, surface requirements, material properties, and functional performance when required.

01
Visual & Feature Inspection
Quality inspectors check each workpiece against the engineering drawings to verify that it meets the customer's specifications.
02
Coating Thickness Inspection
Use a thickness gauge to measure the thickness of the plating or anodized coating.
03
Assembly Fit Verification
Use customer-specified jigs to check the fit of various product components, such as holes and slots.
04
CMM Measurement
Use a HEXAGON 3D CMM to measure dimensions at various points.
05
Height Gauge Measurement
Use a TESA height gauge to measure height.
06
Caliper & Micrometer Inspection
Use Mitutoyo calipers or micrometers to measure each dimension individually.
07
Surface Roughness Testing
Use a surface roughness tester to measure the surface roughness of the product.
08
Hardness Testing
Use a hardness tester to verify that the material hardness meets customer requirements.
09
Compression Testing
Use a pressure testing instrument to test the workpiece's compressive strength.
10
Salt Spray Testing
Use a salt spray tester to verify whether the workpiece's surface meets salt spray resistance standards.

Our Inspection Standards

Every part is inspected using calibrated gauges and precision instruments, with all results recorded for full traceability. If a key dimension is not explicitly marked on the drawing, any value containing decimals is treated as critical.

For appearance requirements, we control color and surface finish, as well as screen printing, surface marks, packaging, and labeling.

When drawings do not specify certain requirements, we follow our standard inspection rules below.

CategoryA-SectionB-SectionC-Section
ColourColor must match the drawing; abnormal colors are not allowed.Meets drawing; mild discoloration is acceptable within a 60 cm visual range.Meets drawing; minor abnormal color is acceptable if not obvious beyond 80 cm.
No visible watermarks or yellow spots.Watermarks allowed if not obvious within 60 cm and total length < 1/3 of the edge.Same as B-Section; up to 10 places allowed.
